From program: "Written in 1992 in New York City [by Héctor Santiago] and presented in Miami to general acclaim, Ballad proclaims to the world the truth behind the Cuban experience. Set in an old mansion in Havana in the final years of the Revolution, it touches on the themes of return and family unity through the prism of two brothers separated by the Cuban tragedy." The play unfolds in three acts and three "dreams"; the characters of Teresa and Santiago portrayed by Marta Velasco and Juan Carlos Antón, respectively.
