Special Collections is home to an outstanding array of rare books, manuscripts, archival collections, photographs and audio-visual items, maps, architectural drawings, artists’ books, and other research materials that document the history of Florida, the Caribbean, Central and South America, and beyond. Special Collections’ popular Artists’ Books Collection features a very wide panorama of some of the finest examples of this nontraditional format, including the work of local artists as well as many from the Caribbean and South America. This collection is often used to inspire students and other researchers to create their own works. At times, these new works have been added to the collection, expanding the purview of South Florida and regional topics with new dimension, shape, and texture.
