Interview with Celeste, mother of a soldier, Part 4 of 4

This interview tells the story of Celeste, a Puerto Rican woman and mother of a soldier. Celeste was married to a military man and had two children with him. The family moved from Puerto Rico to Hawaii and lived there some years. After living in Hawaii and other places, Celeste went to live to Miami, Florida with her family. Celeste’s son went to high school and completed a bachelor’s degree while living in Miami. After his graduation, Celeste’s son decided to join the U.S. Army. For Celeste this decision was shocking, nevertheless, as a Christian person she thought that she had to support her son above all, so she started to think positively about her son’s decision. When her son Anthony completed his military training, all the family traveled to his graduation to spend some time with him, at that time Anthony was married with two children. Celeste struggles with her emotions every day but tries to be positive at all moments and prays a lot. Celeste and her son Anthony are very close and talk frequently when they can. Now Anthony is in Germany in active service and the family is making plans to visit him for Thanksgiving.
