Floyd Stacy, born 6/3/1929 and raised in Oregon is a Marine Corps veteran. After high school he entered the Marines and was immediately assigned to a ship heading to Korea. He fought at the Battle of Chosin Reservoir surrounded by the Chinese army during the freezing cold winter of November-December 1950. He then went to Central Korea, the border between North and South at the 38th parallel. He stayed in South Korea until May 1951 and then came back to the US to a Naval Ammunition Depot in Bangor, Washington for 22 months of active duty. During the interview he showed pictures of his experiences at Chosin Reservoir. He is involved in The Chosin Few, a national organization consisting of those who fought at the reservoir. He points to his Christian faith as what got him through that time in Korea.
