Staging of Man of Rabinal

First English-language staging of Man of Rabinal (also known as Dance of the Trumpets) at State University of New York at Buffalo on April 24 and 25, 1998. The exact origin of the play is unknown; it was one of many plays performed in Mayan communities during pre-Columbian times. The orginial script is attributed to Charles Étienne Brasseur de Bourbourg and Professor Dennis Tedlock of SUNY Buffalo translated Brasseur's text from Quiché to English. Leandro Soto is credited for the theatrical conception and directing of this production.
