This presentation highlights the long and fascinating life and work of environmentalist, journalist, author, activist, and all-around inspiring human, Marjory Stoneman Douglas. In her very productive 108 years of life, Ms. Douglas forever changed the South Florida environment by campaigning successfully to defend the Everglades from encroaching development—inspiring generations of activists to take action and safeguard our natural world.
Special Collections is lucky enough to hold Ms. Douglas' archive, and we also collect the papers of local environmental organizations.
